We are very proud of our debut Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the result of a lot of planning and many, many hours of labor intensive vineyard work. We knew from the very beginning that our high elevation vineyard had the potential to make a special Cabernet Sauvignon, so we invested in top clonal budwood material and an extensive (and expensive) trellising system. The vines are trained to a lyre system, and we shoot thin and drop crop by hand to ensure maximum ripeness.

We treated this wine with the same care as our fellow Cabernet producing cousins in Napa Valley. We picked the grapes at 25.5 degrees brix, used a high percentage of top quality French oak barrels, and aged the wine for 19 months in our caves. We have shared barrel samples with a number of our customers and merchants over the past year, and the feedback has been terrific. We hope you agree!

Tasting Note: The complex nose displays currants, plums, cedar, and espresso. The mouth features ripe plums, more currants and chocolate, with creamy oak and sweet tannins on the finish. It is showing well now, and has the structure to develop more complexity over the coming years.
