Our Grenache, planted in 1996, is from the "Chateau de Beaucastel" clone from the Tablas Creek Nursery. We are extraordinarily excited to be one of the first California wineries to produce a wine using this noble clone from Chateauneuf du Pape. Our first harvest was 1999.

The Grenache vines face south and are densely planted to control vigor. Grenache crops heavily, so we cut off over 50% of our crop in June to maximize the flavor intensity of the remaining crop. The vines are trained to a bilateral cordon with vertical shoot positioning (VSP).
