2013 Turnabout's Fair Play – Estate Red Blend
This is our 5th vintage of this wine, inspired by the fascinating wines of Priorat in Catalonia, Spain. Very much a reflection of our estate vineyard in 2013, it is elegant with bold red fruit character and subtle power. Beautiful aromatics worthy of a flagship wine -- pencil lead, tapenade, pretty toasty oak, and Kona coffee show themselves in the nose. The concentrated blackberry and raspberry flavors in the mouth, along with a hint of meatiness and chalky tannins in the finish remind us of a top tier Chateauneuf du Pape. Organically farmed, bottled without filtration.

Inspired by our favorite wines of the Priorat region in Catalonia, Spain, this Grenache-Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon blend is our attempt to capture the unique character of the vintage while reflecting the soul of our estate vineyard. This 2012 vintage is comparable to the 2010 in ripeness and texture. Pretty cherry, picholine olive, and herbes de Provence aromatics are complemented by dark cherry, chocolate and toasty oak flavors, balanced acidity and seamless tannins on the long elegant finish. We're smitten with this delicious wine. Grapes farmed organically, and bottled without filtration.
Our third vintage of this red blend inspired by our favorite wines of the Priorat region in Catalonia, Spain. Turnabout’s Fair Play is our attempt to capture the unique character of the vintage while reflecting the soul of our estate vineyard. The relatively cool 2011 growing season gives this wine deep minerality and red-fruited character, with hints of tealeaf, orange peel, and toasty oak in the nose, followed by sweet fresh cherry flavors, vibrant acidity, and a smooth, elegant finish. Decidedly Grenache-driven, it’s delicious with a meal and worthy of aging. Grapes farmed organically. Bottled without filtration.
Our second vintage of this delicious blend continues to be inspired by the wines of Priorat in Catalonia, Spain. Our goal is to craft a Grenache-based blend reflecting the unique character of our estate vineyard. Inviting dark red fruitedness throughout with all the structure of a full bodied wine.

Inspired by a trip to the Priorat region in Catalonia, Spain, where vines on terraced hillsides make blended wines that show the character of their soil and site, we decided to try our hand at a blend focused on the common threads between our varietal red wines: dark red fruit favors and mineral hints of our decomposed granite soil. We started with a favorite barrel of 2009 Grenache, and added Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon as supporting players.

"Cedarville’s ode to Priorat, this is a mix of 45% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The three get along swimmingly, amusingly mixing into a triad of dark blackberry, dark licorice and dark chocolate. The rich texture is on the mark, and the wine provides just the right heft for any spicy, brawny meal. 92 points"
